Estonian Rescue Services Agency tests nationwide app alert function
On October 28 at 11:30 AM, test alerts will be sent across Estonia via the “Eesti app” and “Ole valmis!” mobile applications.
The goal of the test is to verify the technical functioning of these apps as part of the national public warning system.
To receive notifications from the government through these apps, users must have notifications enabled on their smartphones.
The test alerts will clearly state that they are only tests. There is no real danger, and recipients do not need to take any action.
Alert message content:
Title: EE-ALARM
Estonian text: TEST! TEST! TEST! Rescue Board: This is a public warning system app test. More info: kriis.ee
English text: TEST! TEST! TEST! Rescue Service: Public warning system app test today. Info: kriis.ee.

The Rescue Services Agency asks the public for understanding if a test alert reaches their phone – it is part of the system’s regular check-up.
Estonia’s public warning system enables the government to quickly provide information and safety instructions to the population in case of emergencies. Mobile applications are one of the channels used to deliver such alerts rapidly.
To ensure the system’s reliability and plan future improvements, it is necessary to regularly test and analyze how quickly the alerts reach users.
The “Eesti app” offers convenient access to state services and digital identity documents via mobile devices, regardless of location or time (download links available for Android and iOS).
The “Ole valmis!” app provides practical guidance on how to act in different crisis situations (download links available for Android and iOS).
Sending notifications to the apps is part of a two-stage technical test of the public warning system. On Thursday, October 30, a technical test of the sirens will take place.
