Apartment associations still have time to apply for crisis support

Apartment associations can now apply for support to buy mobile or fixed generators. They can also get help to build emergency electricity systems for their building, so a generator can be connected if needed. This support covers work needed for building, fixing, or designing these systems.

Applying is open until November 30, 2025, or until the funding runs out. The support is for residential buildings with at least three different apartment owners that are in regular use.

You can find the application materials here (in Estonian).

Anni Alev, Head of the crisis awareness unit at the Estonian Rescue Services Agency, says that apartment associations still have enough time to complete the whole application process. “Apartment associations should make sure they have a proper electrical inspection report, as this is one of the requirements to get the support,” said Alev. “It’s a good idea for all the members of the association to discuss together and plan how to cope better if the building loses power, water, or heating. It makes sense for a building to have its own backup energy source in these situations.”

There is nearly 1.16 million euros available for this support, which comes from the Rescue Services' budget. Each applicant can get up to 10,000 euros. By August 20, 118 applications had been made to the State Support Services Centre, for a total of 787,996.97 euros.
